The Economic Development Department serves as a resource center and liaison for commercial, industrial and local small businesses. We are committed to developing programs, policies and activities that improve the economic well-being and quality-of-life for the Tecumseh community.

  • Business Directory -  The City maintains a listing of commercial and industrial business in the City of Tecumseh.  If you are a new business in Tecumseh or don't see your business listed, please click here to fill out a brief form so we can add you to the list.
  • Demographic Information and Market Analysis - Community demographic information as well as market analysis details are available for review. 
  • Local Business Resources - The City can help connect you to valuable resources in Tecumseh and Lenawee County. This includes collaborative efforts with local, regional, and state economic development agencies as well as job fairs and staffing pipe lines. Click the link to see a list of available resources. 
  • Marketing Assistance - Community demographic information as well as market data are available. In addition, the Economic Development Team is available to meet with individual businesses to review their marketing strategy and help businesses generate a strong customer base. Tecumseh's Economic Development Department also coordinates all Downtown Events with area businesses and organizations including the Central Business Association, Downtown Development Authority, Greater Lenawee Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Lenawee. 
  • Project Incentives - The City of Tecumseh offers various incentives to qualifying projects to help fill potential financial gaps. The purpose of these incentives is to encourage new development in Tecumseh for many different types of businesses. The City of Tecumseh coordinates incentive applications for developers and businesses through our Economic Development Director, City Manager, City Council and City Clerk.   • Downtown Development Authority - The Tecumseh Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a longstanding entity formed in 1981 that focuses on the economic vitality and growth of the Downtown Tecumseh area.
  • Local Development Finance Authority  -  A SmartZone Local Development Finance Authority (LDFA) is an economic development tool that allows property tax dollars to be captured and reinvested to provide support to high-technology entrepreneurs, businesses and researchers in our local community. 
  • Market On Evans - Tecumseh's Farmers Market is located at the Market on Evans - 213 North Evans Street, 1 &1/2 blocks north of Chicago Blvd in Downtown Tecumseh.  The market runs from May until October on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
