NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Tecumseh is accepting applications from Tecumseh City residents interested in an appointment to fill the remaining term of a City Council seat.  The Council may appoint any individual who is eligible for election to the office of City Council and the eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Residence within the city must be maintained for at least one year immediately prior to the last day for filing a petition, or for at least one year immediately prior to an appointment to fill a vacancy.
  • Must be a qualified and registered elector of the city on the last day for filing for office or at such time of appointment and must remain a qualified registered elector throughout the office’s tenure.
  • Must be in good standing with the City (i.e. May not be in default to the City).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • May not be employed by the City.
